There are many things that all come together to create the makeup of my identity. However while sometimes others have a good idea of pieces of my identity other times, my peers, pressed by the force of school culture, make assumptions that are not true. The core aspects of my identity include being athletic, nice and knowledgable. Until recently in which I have had foot problems I have always been very fast and I feel that being athletic is part of who I am. I also always try to be nice and helpful to people I interact with and feel it is important to complete service work and other things out side of school that help others. Lastly, I feel it is important to be knowledgable about all current world events and this is something I strive to complete. I think one thing Culture tries to say about my identity is that I am simply fast and nothing else, and when I haven't been able to run for 1.5 years, now people just think of me as the injured person. One thing others say about me that is true is again that I am fast. This is true and I like running a lot. One assumption that people make that is not true and that I mentioned above is that now that I can't run people think of me as the Injured person. That is not true as I still do other sports and there are many other things about me that don't include athletics.
